Director, Campaign for Legal Services
603 Legal Aid (603LA) and New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA) seek an experienced fundraising executive to direct the Campaign for Legal Services (“the Campaign”), our joint fundraising effort. The Campaign Director will lead fundraising and communications for 603LA and NHLA, two highly-regarded nonprofits that collaborate closely to provide civil legal aid to people with low income in New Hampshire. Staff Attorney,
Domestic Violence Advocacy Project
New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA) seeks an experienced Staff Attorney to work on our Domestic Violence Advocacy Project (DVAP). The Staff Attorney’s work will involve representation of victims and survivors of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, and human trafficking in protective order and family law cases, as well as through NHLA’s Domestic Violence Clinic programs in Manchester and Nashua. Communications Coordinator
603 Legal Aid (603LA) and New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA), two highly regarded nonprofits that collaborate closely to provide civil legal aid to people with low income in New Hampshire, seek an entry-level Communications Coordinator for the Campaign for Legal Services (“the Campaign”). 603LA and NHLA fundraise together through the Campaign. As the Communications Coordinator, you will help raise both money and awareness, ensuring that 603LA and NHLA reach our client communities, our donors, and the public through traditional and new media. Internships at NHLA
Summer 2024 intern positions are filled.
Applications for academic year internships will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early for summer internships.
NHLA legal interns assist attorneys and paralegals with every level of case preparation including interviewing clients, investigating cases, taking depositions, conducting legal research and drafting pleadings. Interns are encouraged to participate in administrative hearings and second year students who meet NH student practice qualifications may represent clients in District Court proceedings.
Because NHLA hires only a small number of interns each year, interns have the opportunity to work on a wide array of cases. NHLA’s legislative efforts afford interested interns the opportunity to conduct legislative tracking and analysis on key poverty issues before the state legislature.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but students are strongly encouraged to apply early each academic year for summer positions. Students are encouraged to apply for academic year internships as well.

NHLA Legal Internship Program:
Each year NHLA hosts law students as legal aid interns who assist attorneys and paralegals with every level of case preparation including:
interviewing clients,
investigating cases,
taking depositions,
conducting legal research, and
drafting pleadings.
Interns are encouraged to participate in administrative hearings and second year students who meet NH student practice qualifications may represent clients in District Court proceedings.
Because NHLA accepts only a small number of legal interns each year, interns have the opportunity to work on a wide array of cases. NHLA’s legislative efforts afford interested interns the opportunity to conduct legislative tracking and analysis on key poverty issues before the state legislature.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but students are strongly encouraged to apply early each academic year for summer positions. Summer interns receive a stipend of $2,500 and may be eligible for further compensation through work-study programs, in which NHLA is happy to participate. Students are encouraged to apply for academic year internships for academic credit as well; these for-credit internships are not paid.
